Abstract

Pengambilan keputusan
orang tua menentukan tingkat kegawatan sakit akibat demam anak.
distribusi frekuensi sub variabel.

Fever is one of the symptoms that arise due to infection by viruses or
bacteria. Fever symptoms make parents panic that something will happen to
their children. Parents will take several alternative treatments for fever in
children, before making a decision to be handled by health workers. The
pattern of handling fever in children may not be the same from one family to
another. Parental decision-making determines the severity of illness due to
a child's fever. The purpose of this research is to show the pattern of handling
fever children used as decision making by parents. Quantitative, descriptive
analytical research methods. The respondents were parents of children who
were hospitalized. Data collection by providing instruments on handling
child fever and parental decision-making in medical treatment. The survey
results were analyzed quantitatively, univariable in the form of sub-variable
frequency distribution. Data collection through direct interviews with
respondents. The results of the study found that parental decision making to deal with fever in children is very important in every family to improve the
degree of family health. Most parents choose to treat their child's fever on
their own, not a priority to immediately bring it to health services. They
believe that giving plenty of water, giving febrifuge, providing blankets and
warm clothes, is necessary for a child with a fever. The decision of parents is
not right, so it is recommended to provide health education for the
community about fever management. This research contributes to
improving the quality of healthy families.
