Pemberdayaan Lansia Penderita Diabetes Melitus dan Keluarga Berbasis Model Caring Elderly
Abstract
Keterlibatan keluarga adalah kunci untuk memastikan keberlanjutan perawatan dan pengelolaan diabetes secara mandiri. Oleh karena itu, pemberdayaan lansia dan keluarganya sangat penting untuk mencapai pengelolaan diabetes yang optimal. Pendekatan Caring Elderly Model menawarkan solusi inovatif yang menempatkan nilai-nilai kasih sayang, empati, dan dukungan emosional sebagai inti pemberdayaan. Model ini mengintegrasikan konsep manajemen perawatan diri diabetes untuk menciptakan sinergi antara pasien lansia dan anggota keluarga dalam mengelola penyakit secara bersama-sama. Pengabdian Masyarakat ini diharapkan dapat meningkatkan manajemen perawatan diri diabetes. Bagi keluarga, diharapkan dapat meningkatkan kemampuan untuk mendukung lansia secara holistik. Kegiatan Pengabdian Masyarakat terdiri dari 3 tahap, yaitu: survei pendahuluan, pelaksanaan, dan evaluasi. Kegiatan pemberdayaan lansia penderita DM dan keluarganya berbasis model lansia peduli terbukti efektif dalam meningkatkan manajemen perawatan diri diabetes (p value 0.001). Kegiatan Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat berupa pemberdayaan lansia penderita DM dan keluarganya berbasis model lansia peduli bermanfaat bagi lansia penderita DM, keluarga dan Puskesmas
