Abstract

Sex can be used as an indicator of aging, because sex involves the work of hormones and the cardiovascular system. Aging in the cardiovascular system and hormones causes a decrease or sexual dysfunction in the elderly. SEPUCHI physical exercise is a series of combined tai chi and kegel movements that are expected to provide multiple benefits to the elderly. Kegel movements can increase sexual arousal and tai chi movements can lower blood pressure. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of SEPUCHI physical exercise on the sexual activity of the elderly. The research design used was a pre-experimental one group pre-test post-test with a purposive sampling technique on 50 respondents according to the eligibility criteria. The results of the Wilcoxon Signed Rank test found that there was an effect of SEPUCHI physical exercise on sexual activity before and after being given SEPUCHI physical exercise (p = 0.001). Suggestions to the elderly to be able to apply SEPUCHI physical exercise regularly, and to health workers to apply SEPUCHI physical exercise to the elderly health service program.
