Students as part of the academic community have the main responsibility for their academic tasks. Many students find that they delay doing academic assignments or it is called academic procrastination. There are various factors that cause nursing students of the Semarang Ministry of Health Poltekkes to delay, one of which is a factor in the Jurnal Perawat Indonesia, Volume 7 No 1, Hal 1342-1355, Mei 2023 Persatuan Perawat Nasional Indonesia Jawa Tengah e-ISSN2 548-7051 p-ISSN 2714-6502 1343 individual itself or referred to as self-concept. This study was structured to determine the relationship between self-concept and academic procrastination in nursing students at the Health Polytechnic of the Ministry of Health in Semarang. This type of research is a correlational method with a cross sectional approach to find the relationship between self- concept and academic procrastination. The respondents of this study used a sample of 150 students with a multistage random sampling technique that combines cluster sampling and proportionate stratified random sampling. The self-concept variable was measured by a self-concept scale questionnaire, amounting to 25 items and the academic procrastination variable was measured by an academic procrastination questionnaire totaling 30 items. Both variables were analyzed by the Kendall Tau correlation test. The results of the correlation analysis of the two variables obtained the results of r = (-0.187) with Sig. (2-tailed) 0.002 (p<0.05), indicating that there is a significant negative relationship between self-concept and student academic procrastination. That is, if a student's self-concept increases, it will be followed by a decreased student's academic procrastination behavior. Otherwise, if students' self-concept decreases, there is the potential for an increase in academic procrastination behavior in students.
