Introduction: Critical patients who are treated in the ICU are in a long time both sitting and lying positions with limited movement so that it will put the patient at risk of developing decubitus. The role of the nurse in the prevention of decubitus is skin care which includes hygiene care and topical administration, mechanical prevention and surface support. The American Association of Critical Care Nurses (AACN) introduced several pressure sore (decubitus) management techniques, one of which is progressive mobilization intervention. Objective: This study aims to determine the effect of progressive mobilization on the risk of developing decubitus in ICU patients. Method: This research is an analytical study with a Quasy Experimental design with one group pre test – post test design. The instrument used is the Braden Scale which is used to measure pressure sores. Progressive mobilization intervention was carried out for 3 days and then the post-intervention value was measured. Results: The majority of the Braden scale values before the intervention were Very High Decubitus Risk (60%) and after the intervention the majority were High Decubitus Risk (60%). The effect test using the Wilcoxon test was used to obtain the result of p = 0.002 (p <0.005), which means that there is an effect of progressive mobilization interventions. Conclusion: There is an effect of progressive mobilization interventions on reducing the risk of decubitus.References
